If you’ve followed my work for any length of time, you know I don’t like the look of Boudoir shot is spaces that’s obviously a studio. I like the settings to look real- a real bedroom, a real backstage look- realistic settings! That’s how it’s been for me since very early on. When I decided to make the move to Las Vegas, I wanted to find a place that could be transformed into areas that have the feel of realism. Here’s a few of my favorite new shooting spaces that are new to Lifestyle Boudoir.
The Stairway- shooting on a stairway from a low angle gives the subject strength and power, adding a wider lens to this stretches out the subjects body making them appear leaner and taller- again, that increased height simply adds to their power. Here’s a few examples from the Stairway.
The Burlesque Backstage- For years I’ve used our practical makeup table as a set, but in this new space, I’ve perfected it- adding decorations, photographs, a changing screen, clothing rack and set dressing to complete the look. Also, by using the fog machine, it also gives it a smoky Burlesque House feel. Here’s a few examples.
Of course a set is just a set until it's lit properly to give that "REAL" feeling.
What's your thoughts? Would you prefer to be photographed in surroundings that appear real (because they are)?
Of course, these are just 2 of the many spots we photograph you in during your session.
In my next post, we'll examine some of the other areas you can be photographed in.
Until then, perhaps take a quick look at what some of our past clients had to say about their session on our RAVES page.
